Job Description

The Wheatsheaf, Chilton Foliat, is delighted to be expanding its team with the search of a Chef de Partie. We are seeking an enthusiastic professional line chef to support our Executive Chef in the preparation and production of our bespoke menu; playing a key role in contributing to customer satisfaction.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all food on the given section is prepared in accordance with established recipe
  • Ensure that there are sufficient quantities of ingredients to prepare the required dishes
  • Ensure that all dishes are tasted to ensure correct flavour and seasoning and checked with Head Chef/Sous Chef
  • Ensure that dishes are plated to the required the portion control and visual standard before being sent for service
  • To ensure appropriate levels of production in direct relation to the level of business
  • Organisation kept clean by following the correct procedures to meet the statutory food hygiene and food safety standards
  • Ensure equipment/utensils in the section are correctly handled and maintained
  • To contribute suggestions during menu planning as appropriate
  • To ensure the kitchen is run to a consistently high standard in the Head Chef’s absence

Qualifications / Experience:

  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook within a high quality food environment
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
