Role & Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
  • Assist in leading the kitchen team during busy service periods and take responsibility for sections of the kitchen.
  • Support the planning and delivery of seasonal menus, daily specials and new dishes.
  • Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards before leaving the pass.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels and food preparation in line with business requirements.
  • Help manage stock rotation, ordering, portion control and waste management.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene and health & safety procedures.
  • Support the training, coaching and development of Commis Chefs and junior kitchen team members.
  • Work collaboratively with front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional guest experience.
  • Contribute to a positive, professional and supportive kitchen culture.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef within a quality gastro pub, fresh food restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Strong experience working with fresh, seasonal ingredients and producing high-quality dishes.
  • Good understanding of cooking methods, kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
  • Sound knowledge of food hygiene, allergen management and health & safety requirements.
  • Experience supporting and developing junior team members.
  • Ability to maintain high standards whilst working efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and kitchen operations.
