Job Description
The Wheatsheaf, Chilton Foliat, is delighted to be expanding its team with the addition of a Breakfast Chef. Following a successful soft launch, we are now looking to complete our kitchen team ahead of our full launch. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable chef to take ownership of our morning service and help shape the guest experience from the very start of the day.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast offering in line with established recipes and standards
- Take ownership of the morning kitchen setup and service
- Ensure sufficient prep and stock levels are maintained for breakfast service
- Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control
- Uphold excellent food hygiene and safety standards at all times
- Ensure the kitchen is clean, organised, and ready for transition to lunch service
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to support smooth daily operations
- Contribute ideas to continually enhance the breakfast menu
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience working as a breakfast chef, line chef, or similar role in a quality food environment
- Strong understanding of breakfast service, timing, and organisation
- Knowledge of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and food safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and consistency
- A calm and solutions-focused approach under pressure
- A genuine passion for local and seasonal ingredients and pub dining done well
