The Wheatsheaf is a renowned country pub and hospitality destination in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside, featuring a quality-led gastro pub restaurant, stunning orangery and eight beautifully appointed guest rooms.

Following the successful expansion and full launch of the business, we are looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused Food & Beverage Assistants to join our growing front-of-house team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a thriving hospitality venue, delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Whether guests are joining us for drinks in the bar, dining in the restaurant, relaxing in the orangery or staying overnight, you’ll play an important role in ensuring every visit exceeds expectations.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service in the restaurant, bar, orangery and event spaces.
  • Welcome guests in a warm, professional and friendly manner.
  • Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve food and beverages to the highest standards.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of menus, daily specials, drinks and wine offerings.
  • Ensure tables and service areas are presented to an exceptional standard.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing down service areas.
  • Handle guest enquiries and requests professionally.
  • Support bar operations, including preparing and serving beverages where required.
  • Process payments accurately and follow cash handling procedures.
  • Work closely with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, health & safety and licensing regulations.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Previous experience in a hospitality, restaurant, gastro pub, hotel or customer-facing role would be advantageous.
    • A passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment is desirable.
    • Confidence communicating with guests and colleagues.
    • Basic food hygiene knowledge would be beneficial.
    • A willingness to learn and develop within the hospitality industry.
